Lacoste|NYFW Spring/Summer 2012

This was Felipe Oliveria Baptista’s first menswear collection both for Lacoste and in general. Baptista has always desired to design his own menswear line, and he finally got the chance when former Lacoste head designer Christopher Lemaire, left the company for a position at Hermes.

It was a nice change to not have to see the signature croc adorned on the breast of every single top, But instead it was present in a less obvious place, the lower left, hitting at the hip. (I might start to miss the traditional placing of the croc). Color blocking was big for the Lacoste show. Where the quantity of looks was lacking (only 10 men’s looks) the quality was there. Overall Lacoste’s SS12 Collection was wearable and fresh.
